The Priesthood of Jesus Cleanses the Conscience
When Christians are not in covenant with God then their whole Christian experience is focused on making sense of the sin they still experience, their failure to meet God’s expectations, their struggle with their fallen nature, and their inability to find peace.
Their heart frets against the Lord because the knowledge they are embracing keeps their souls in a state of uncertainty about themselves and about God and about life. They are in conflict with themselves, their neighbor, and their past. Their conscience is still spitting up the things that Satan sowed within. God returns the church to the superior priesthood.
